Handicrafts exports accounted for 46% of the project ‘s total exports to Nepal

Global Textile Network News: Nepal ‘s total exports were about 46% of the products are arts and crafts projects , Nepal Trade and Export Promotion Center (TEPC) said.

According to the statistics of Nepal Trade and Export Promotion Center , handicrafts are the main contributors to the country ‘s export earnings , the Himalayan Times reported . The statistics in the ” arts and crafts sector in poverty reduction task ” meeting Handicrafts Association of Nepal (FHAN) were organized on sharing .

At the meeting , Joint Secretary, Ministry of Nepal Deepak commercial supply . Subedi highlighted the importance of promoting the arts and crafts industry in the country , which is to get more foreign exchange earnings , reducing the trade deficit .

Nepal is necessary to modernize the country ‘s traditional handicrafts , based on the ancient art and culture , to increase production of handicrafts .

Subedi said that the commercial supply department implemented training programs for the promotion and development of the country ‘s handicraft industry to provide incentives.

President of the Federation of Nepalese handicrafts Trondheim . Ratner . Sakya said that Nepal handicrafts manufacturing sector is currently facing the timeliness issue , which is due to the lack of skilled human resources and excessive pressure on the various trade unions. He requested the Government of Nepal imported raw materials for handicrafts industry to provide concessions , it is timely for the manufacture of the product .

According to the Federation of Nepalese handicrafts in 2012-13 fiscal year , Nepal ‘s handicraft exports reached 4.36 billion rupees , an increase of 6%. 2011-12 fiscal year, exports to 4.11 billion rupees.
